Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be an engineer? Most people probably don’t think about being engineers but perhaps you should. Engineering is a very diverse field where people work to solve problems that people face in either their life or their work. Creating solutions using the tools developed by science and math are at the heart of engineering. But are communication and team skills are also critical for develop solutions and then being able to explain them to others. When you really look at engineering there is so much social work going on with this work.

Now who should an engineer? Our world today faces enormous challenges in every facet of life. To develop new solutions engineering needs to have a diverse group of future engineers preparing to enter the field in new ways. New thinking from a diverse group can lead new perspective and new ideas. If you are interested in working as part of a team to reach solutions for real people and the problems they face, think about engineering.

Start exploring engineering by working on this Mission of the Month. The options are many with different types of engineering showcased. 1. Social work as part of engineering - what an interesting concept! Also art I think. So much of engineering is about design, thinking differently about something, being creative and fun as well as functional. Engineers really require a broad range of skills, being the "Renaissance person"
